2010-08-10 Pain
I`ve fallen hard, I guess it comes with attempting harder tricks. I met the guy who is thinking of going pro again, and he watched me go on the halfpipe and when I asked why I couldn`t lock on he gave me great advice. First off my frames and the anti-rockers make it harder (thank god I wen`t freestyle on the frames I ordered) and also im launching myself over the coping in fear of falling back. So one problem I`ve got covered and the other I just gota work on. Fishbraining on my small rail was easy, I was suprised... though none of these grinds are that impressive because the rail is on the ground... I feel much more like a street skater not a park skater. But I guess its all the same for skaters. Here`s the list..

2010-08-02 Progress
So halfpipe is nothing to me now, can`t bealive it looked so scary at first. But damn One of my wheel`s became square! I think I flatened one side doing a mizzou, then it just got worse and worse. Met two kids a couple years younger then me but they have defintly helped with my progress. I can 180 off a bench, go down the halfpipe, one leg stall on it, go up and down all the ramps, do a mizzou on the higher rail. Im gettin fairly good, and it feels f**king good to. No more "all these kids think I suck" now its "Aight, he`s not.. bad". Wich is a huge relief. Well here is the tricklist.. been only working on the halfpipe so I can`t really ad much

2010-07-23 Day 3
Saw another blader, he didn`t really seem all to interested in me though. He was greatin, soul stalling on the halfpipe, getting huge air. It was awesome to watch. Before he came I had been working on my makio and found by keeping one foot on the ground then lifiting it up it was really easy. I was angry I hadn`t started with that, for it looks cooler then my frontsides and I`m not dieing everytime I go to fast. Once a could makio a mizou came really easy as well. So stoaked. Next time I go to the park I`ll work on my soul grind but im sore and I don`t have work friday or sunday so I think I`ll rest, but who knows. So right as this blader rolls up I got an urge to hit a really fast mizou, and I hit it beutifuly at least in my mind. I can hit frontsides at a good speed now but its so risky on this big square pipe I hit the ground hard alot. I`m still thinking about how amazing it was to skate at night with no one around. Dark, rainy, and im drenched in sweat but looking back on it, I never felt beter.
So glad I figured out two tricks in one day. Still cant stall a makio or mizou.. but I can grind them

2010-07-22 Day 2 at the park
Didn`t skate that much at work, only about an hour but had a great night session at around 8pm. It was really dark but I love it, my frontsides are getting fairly consistant, though I really got to amp up the speed. Once my grind comes to a stall or I stall normaly I can 180 really easily, it makes my VERY simple tricks like alot nicer, hit a 270 off a grind and it felt really good. I feel a 360 wouldn`t be a problem if I worked on it. Found out another trick I can do besides a frontside grind, I stall on the edge of this makeshift ramp, bounce off and do a 180. Not really a trick per say but it defintly reminds me of some of the street skating tricks I see the pros do. Im sure to people who don`t understand how easy it is, defintly looks like I kindof know what im doing. I can not understand how to soul or mizou, I just can`t get my soul edge on there, I keep getting my wheels caught. Very upseting but hey its only my second day! As dissapointed as I am, I feel im making amazing progress, most likely because I`m older than most people who start and I have 5 hours a day to skate. Had some great grinds going 1-2 feet I felt really good about, defintly didn`t impress anyone. Im so beat but I`ll keep going till I break something haha. Some kid who doesnt even blade borrowed my skates and could hop over a bench.. showed me up. Have to learn how to do that some time, still kindof clumsy when coming down from a bunny hop, though I have no problem doing a 270 off my "training" rail.
Trick list (I`ll be adding things not only to make me feel beter but to keep updated with things im learning)

2010-07-20 First REAL Day
Show up at the park, and I`ve got a 5 hour shift. I figure enough time to really figure out how to skate. Found a really long square pipe lying on the ground and decided that it would be best to start there. Did some frontside stalls and then ran my bar of soap over it, due to the fact I have no wax. The soap worked well and my first attempts at grinding were sketchy. Fell hard three times, first time I got a huge bloody knee, my entire knee was bleeding from left to right. I thought that was bad at the time till I fell and slammed my knee into the rail. I`m starting to figure out why they invented knee pads, though I still refuse to wear them. I was in a lot of pain from the knee slam, and I skated/hobbled to a bench. Both times though I thought, if I quit now, I`ll always be scared of it, and I`ll never be able to gain progress. So gave myself a 20second break and got right back to practicing my grinds. Finaly nearing the end I was hitting frontside grind fairly well (going about a foot or less) and could do 180`s off them. At the moment its been about 2 hours and half since I stopped skating and I feel like someone beat the s**t out of me, but I can`t wait for tommorow. Only 3 hours though. I tried figuring out how to soul, though I couldn`t seem to workout a soul stall let alone a grind. I`m goin start putting things I want to do, and things I`ve acomplished down every day after a session here, to watch my progress.
I hope I can complete this by the end of august. I`ll be skating 2-5 hours a day, I feel its reasonable.
My trick list:

2010-07-20 First day
Just got my Cult 9`s, so stoaked, havent been able to go the park yet due to the rain. Wheeled around my house then decided to set up shop in the garage. Got a rail like piece of wood, skated around and around the ping pong table, used supports to help jump up on the rail. Felt fairly confident, though always had supports. Tommorow Ill be at the park for a while, we will see how it goes with out supports!
