Default Grinding on square pipes

Is this possible? My skatepark is really made more for bmx, not many rails and the ones that look the most promising are square. I've never tried to grind a square rail, will it work?

Yes, It's just like grinding a curb or a ledge.

If there's any issues grinding on the square rails, try getting new frames and/or a new H block.

When I looked at them they looked so sketchy but when I came back I realized it wasn't that hard, would rather skate a round rail (the sharp edges are killin my skates) but there really arn't any at my park.

Ya, skating on edges tend to wear down your skates more so than curved surfaces. Obviously, concrete does not help- in contrast to metal.

you mean a concrete curb? ya, worst of the worst. only way it can get worse is if it has either:
a)metal blocker thingies
b)its chipped as well

wax is your skates best friend when it comes to concrete. usd it liberally and help your skates live longer.

Get a reasonable amount of speed to start off with and then get both your feet on at about shoulder width, having your feet closer together makes you slip out much easier.
After a while you will naturally get the right distance between your feet by instinct, in my opinion, the best way to learn grinds is to make yourself a p-rail, my p-rail is only 2m long but it helped me get stability and make myself more confident on rails. I hardly use it now, unless I'm not a skate park and I want to practise a trick. Also, if you fall over there is no one to rip you up about it!
Hope this helps!

BTW thanks for the tip about waxing my skates for curbs! I now rarely grind concrete curbs i always try to find the plastic ones if i do!

Anouther thing to add is to make sure you're not putting all of your weight on only one skate which is a mistake that does happen once or twice during some beginner's sessions- one usually learns this quite quickly if not prior to. Doing so doesnt work out as well(those who already grind should know this well clearly enough already :P).
